If so, please post pic
I actually Just installed some last night. Let me go take a pic to share.
if you use those that means you can get rid of that nasty license plate holder too eh?...... hmmm i wanna seee these pics cause gosh i hate that big black flap lol
I've got two ideas... Putting in flush mount signals or this:
http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=23534.0
damn I like that second idea. thinking about doing that one myself now. I was orriginally just gonna get one of these:

they were 16 bucks at cycle gear..
I haven't even thought about putting them on the rear fairing, but now that I see it on like that, I'm liking the flush signals on the fender.
The LED's on the passanger pegs won't work on the GS. The muffler is blocking the view on the right side. I still have to do some thinking, so I'll let you know what my plans are...
Good job tho! :thumb:
i love'em ! i just dont want to drill any holes in my rear faring .. or any thing
ok where did you get them bad boys ? you got a link for me ? i'd let to get a set :) get them stock ones off :) i'll probly put them on the bottom side if they look good and are visable :) kinda like the GSX1000
I got them at cyclegear. I figured what the hell. If I don't like them then I will take them off and use a little "bondo" and fill the holes and re-paint the plastics. Flat black paint jobs are pretty reasy to come by..
i'm guessing cyclegear is a shop there around your area ?
yeah, cyclegear is a nationwide shop as well as online shop available worldwide. http://www.cyclegear.com/
I donno, I think those r6 pegs might work. does anyone have a pic of the back of their bike so you can see the peg mounts. my bikes in storage at someone ealses house so I dont have easy access to it
There's a Cycle Gear here in Austin at 183/Burnet if you're ever in town. I think you could do a modification of the LEDs on the passenger peg brackets pretty easily. Get a strip of LEDs with some adhesive and put a few small strips right next to the tail light, covering up all that empty space back there.
Why not get an integrator? I hate turn signals...especially flush mounts that aren't. Or get bar-end signals...those are legal.
If you really want to run with the "flush mount" things get a aero marker light of some variety. Autozone used to sell the ones I liked...stood mayby 1/4 off the surface, about 1/2" wide and about 2" long with the leading edge tapered to actually blend in.

those things are huge.. mine are at most about 1" x 3/4" x 1/2" off the surface.

ummm...which makes them about 1/4" longer than the ones that I'm talking about, and about 1/4" higher off the surface. your's are also about 1/2" wider.
mine are only 1" long. The ones you're referring to are for cars. I used that have a set.. Trust me these are much smaller than anything available at autozone. I just went there to try and buy some 2 days ago and decided to get these due to size. But anyways. Im happy with them so far. They are very bright and due the job rather nicely..
I haven't looked in a while so I'm not sure where to find the real low-profile stuff anymore. Texas doesn't require signal lights so I uually don't have any.
I misread your post...the ones I'm referring to are 2" X .5" X .25"...maybe a longer but still much smaller than what you've got (which looks like the typical lockhart phillips signals). Owner preference trumps all other opinions, though.
tru those are much lower profile. i think we have to have them in FL. iono.. i like them. makes me feel safer.
NO TURN SIGNALS IN TEXAS..... :o HOLY CRAP man remind me to never go there...i woudl have major road rage!!! i hate when peopel don't signal!!!! :nono:

like having signals means they'll use them?
It's not a texas requirement for motorcylces to be equiped with signals because left hand signals are very visable.
Not signalling is still against the law.
not really sure who told yall that you dont have to have turn signals in TX but you do..
http://motorcycles.about.com/cs/beginners/p/equipreqtx.htm
http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/msb/txmclaws.htm#Chapter%202 <-- TX state laws.. 547.324
on both cages and bike you have to have functional front and rear turn signals.
note it said nothing about bikes (c) Turn signal lamps: a motor vehicle, trailer, semitrailer, or pole trailer shall be equipped with electric turn signal lamps that indicate the operator's intent to turn by displaying flashing lights to the front and rear of a vehicle or combination of vehicles and on that side of the vehicle or combination toward which the turn is to be made. on the first link Turn Signals: <-----says nothing .. its not solarpulse is right there not a have to have on bikes here .. you take it to any shop here and they will pass it :) ..given everything ealse passes

You should always look further into what you're displaying when you're trying to prove someone wrong.
The section you cite is directed at cars/trucks, and as a general guidline stating that if turn signals are evident, they must be functional. Motorcycles have their own section, governed by different regulations. Inspectionstations try and use what you've cited to refuse your tag, but:
http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/msb/mcintexas.htm
This section is specifically for motorcycles.
the second link I posted is Motorcycle laws not cars. Read the top of the page I posted.. whatever anyways. No turn signals is an invitation to get ran over IMO..

You should read the WHOLE thing...not just the top of the page. Just read it...all...like I and many others have, don't just post the link and "state" what you see at the top of the page. There is not one thing in there that says motorcycles are required to have electric turn signals. Did you even read the link I posted?
so uh.... anybody got those picture of the back of their bike?.....
here are mine...not flushmounts, but mounted to the fairing. I like them a lot better this way

that picture is huge, but I don't see why you wouldn't be able to use those r6 pegs with leds in them. just cut off your existing pegs and bolt on the new ones, the just wire them up as signals. the ebay auction says you can get them in any colour you want.
or you can do what that guy did .. take you a cutting wheel and cut a chunk of it out of the back drill some holes for the leds . hook them bad boys up and seal it up .. if you look at it .. thats all he did .. i was looking at the gs pegs . the seam to be hollow . so all you would have to do is . cut the back side out of it . put them in there but the right resitors on it . wire it and bame its done :)
all I did was drill a 1/2" hole and remove the 2 sided tape, route the wires, and plug them in. Took me about 10 minutes at most.

yeh I was thinking about that too but the R6 pegs have got alot more style to them. Nice flowing curvy lines and they look to be aluminum too.

these are about the right size if you go wit the 6 bulb ones. Flexible, waterproof, and heat resistant. These would be extremely easy to make work with the stock passenger pegs if you guys want a very easy option. Im buying 2, 6 bulb strips to install underneat the tail. One on all the time and one comes on flashing with the brake light. Will post info when done.
