I am trying to recreate this mod for my bike, but I don't want to spend the $75 to do it, when I can get away with around $30 by doing this myself

I have forgotten all my high school physics lessons.  What size resistor do I need for what size amber LED.  Also, what intensity LED?

...I know nothing about LED's and the such....but I did see where someone did this to their SV....I'm going to take a look and see if I can find the post (it's on one of the SV sites).....hopefully that will be helpfull....

I tried to email the ebay seller, but they didn't seem to want to help.  Kinda makes sense tho...  Why help me when they can charge me $$$

You could try asking sites that sell led's singularly. I think they would help and know.

Remember EAR and PIE.  Ohm's law in a handy dandy acronym.

E = IR
P = IE

Where:

E = Voltage
I = Current
R = Resistance
P = Power

I'm assuming Voltage is measured in Volts (duh)
Current = amps???
Resistance = Ohms???
Power = Watts???

You'll need LED's and 220ohm resistors.  LED's are polar, the long leg is the anode (+).  Connect your resistor to the anode, and use shrink-wrap.  Splice the cathodes ("-" or short leg of the LED) together and simply ground them to the frame.  Splice all the open legs of your resistors together and run a 12v feed stright off turn signal connector.

Depending on how the GS signals work, you "may" have to ground them out at the signal connector, as well as supply.

Now, doesn't the resistor depend of the intensity of the LED?

not really...unless you want it to.  But to find the ones that do require variences you'd have to catalog order.  The generic stuff you get off ebay is all the same..needs 220ohm resister for 12v power.

Actually, off ebay, you can usually buy them in packs...25 or so LEDS and the appropriate resistors for 12v.  That's what I used to do when I was hacking and cutting up PS2 and XBOX cases.

used to...lost popularity, though, and it's kind of a lame waste of resources and time when you have a desktop in the next room that's infinitely more capable.

....modded as in "I hacked and installed harddrives and linux etc" in them.
