Title: Another front suspension question... sorry...
Post by: Thor S Magic Bathtub on January 18, 2006, 04:20:05 PM
Ok, so I've been doing a lot of reading and I think I'm gonna be getting racetech springs soon. I just want to check with you knowlegeable peoples about a few things.
I can buy the springs alone, right? I do't need the emulators, they just allow for more tweaking? I don't have the $$$ to pay for all that fancy stuff right now, but may eventually get them.
Also, will I be able to install these springs the "lazy way," like some people do with progressive springs, (Pull out old springs, plunk in new ones)?
I know these questions have been asked a few hundred times, but I can't find the answers. Thanks!

You can do it the lazy way, but to be sure of oil capacity etc best to do it the proper way and doing it the proper way is not that hard just takes a little longer to do, basically if your confident that you can do it the lazy way then you can do it the proper way bikes dont come much easier to work on then a GS.
Also if your bikes a couple of years old then the oil in there is going to be dirty and will need to be replaced anyway and you can't get it all out without removing the fork legs :thumb:
