For those that have replaced their fork oil, what are you using?

I was wondering what everyone else is using since I am in the process of rebuilding a couple sets of Katana forks my race bikes. Going to be using 20w oil. I think one of my front ends has aftermarket springs. Not really sure since I have not pulled them apart yet. The joy of ebay items.

btw...thanks for adding the poll option to this forum.

Stock springs+125lbs=5wt fork oil for the purpose of smoothing out the bumps+I ride in the rain (you want to increase sag and decrease compression and rebound damping for riding in the rain).

15wt BelRay oil and progressive springs for me.  A huge improvement over stock .. no more bottoming out on the driveway entrance!  :thumb:

I ran 15 w/ progressives and It was "bar rattling" to say the least...I felt every little pot hole...I switched it to 5 and ran it like that  A-grade for supension

I'm running race tech springs and 10 in my FZR...only been out on a few outtings so I'll report later...it's a little to thin when you push the bike but it might work out for every day pot-hole down the free-way riding

I know there are more than this that have changed their fork oil.

If I need to add a combination let me know. Bel-Ray does make a 7wt oil but I decided to leave that one out.

I submitted "15wt and aftermarket springs" but I actually run 15wt and 1" spacers with stock springs.  It's firm - No bottoming at all, even on stoppies.  It is harsh on potholes and the like, so I gas it over those

Firm - but I like the ride.

On the '91 track bike ran 15 wt with racetech springs and emulators, then went to GSXR USD.

On the '89 street bike ran Progressive brand springs with 10 wt before changing to GSXR USD

Do you know what weight you had in the USD's?
