I gotta get something for this bike. 94 GS, totally stock. Anything decent recommended for it so I don't have to hold on to the bars for dear life at 60mph?
I have a National Cycle F-15 "Sport" screen that I would part with for $50 + shipping. It cuts wind quite well... :icon_rolleyes:... seriously though, it works well and gives you something to duck behind when you want to feel like boy- racer. It's not as cool looking as the F-18, but it provides much more protection, esp. to your hands which is nice in colder weather.

*EDIT* It's the dark tint one, not the clear. Also, it's in fine shape, no dings/cracks, just some very light surface scratches from bugs knocked away, dust, etc.
F-15 works great. :thumb:
Build some muscle, 60mph won't feel so bad. Squeeze the tank with your legs more. Drop your head a little bit and use the headlight for all its worth. Ride more at that speed. You'll get used to it. Then 90mph will seem windy.
Givi makes a fiew nice screens
you can also graft on off of a buell or a ducati monster
100 is a little windy. 60 feels nice..
i used to have a universal cafe racer fairing from chapparal. i had it until i crashed and it broke but will probably get another one, i liked it that much. it is about $45 plus shipping so its pretty reasonable. i think it looks really cool too. only problem is that its "unviersal" which means it won't fit worth a damn on your bike. i had to do a bit of fooling around to finally make it work with thhe mounting hardware and the handlebars which will get in the way a bit.

That's what's nice about the F-15. It mounts to the two headlight brackets, goes on in about 10 minutes, no cutting, modding or fabrication. It's also adjustable, so depending on how much protection you want you can either have it lay low and look less noticable or have it in full flare and be nice and cushioned from the air. Incidentely, I do agree with these other guys, 60mph isn't bad if you keep near the tank, one thing you should use to your advantage is the wind resistance, it will keep weight off your wrists and leave your riding position relatively neutral and comfortable.
I had a universal cafe fairing on my old CB750 and I liked it, but that was mostly because with the fairing, it was exactly the bike that Schwarzenegger rode in Terminator... I even carried an Uzi when I rode it. :2guns:
Consider a bigger one, mine is a "Turbo Spitfire" but there are several about, it deflect wind and a great deal of rain over the head and one of the advantages of a larger screen, the hands too. Quite comfotable at max speed.
I have two bikes, the GS500 with a screen and the Yamaha cruiser without, and winter riding is so much better behind a screen.
no windscreen for me.....EWWWW..(personal preference)
I have the stock one from a GS500e kicking around. Doesn't match my bike and I'm too lazy to paint it..... Drop me a PM if you are interested...

Well for really good protection from wind, winter cold, and hard rain there's nothing like the Plexistar 2 type fairing from National Cycle. I currently have these on both my 97 and 02 GSs. Here's a pic of one the from NC site, don't have a pic of one on my bikes:

For summer use I put a smaller Slipstreamer Spitfire on the 02 GS and it's all I really need for all day travel at 75-80 mph indicated. I can sit there upright and relaxed at freeway speeds and occasionally throw a leg forward on the case guard pegs to relieve cramping on a 400 mile day. Here's a pic of my GS Sport Tourer sitting in front of a motel in Maggie Valley, NC about 600 miles from home:

The little Spitfire was bought locally for about $50 and the Plexi 2's were bought online for about twice that each.
I have a 99 with the PlexiStar II. It works great!!. Makes the naked GS look bashfull, but I would rather have that then freeze my a@@ off in the morning. Keeps me dry in the rain, too. It will come off when the temp rises in the summer.
