Name speaks for itself,
Is it possible to shorten a Wileyco?
Specifically a carbon fiber wileyco. (Not that it would make any difference between carbon or steel)
I've heard of people doing it with other brand cans.
From what I've heard its basically just;
drill out the rivets on one end cap,
pop the cap off,
cut desired length out,
replace cap and fasten with new rivets or screws.
Anyone done it?
I've seen it on some of the street fighters. Looks good.
You'd have to have a pretty good saw.
The theory is sound.
What saw do you have? A band saw of some sort would work best.

The theory is sound.
And this theory? Makes it louder? Deeper?
My theory just involves making a high mount exhaust with a carbon Wileyco and Vance & Hines headers (sure would be a shame to chop up a nice Vance and Hines full system) but that's what I'm doing.
Somthing along the lines of this:

sounds completely do-able. Kust make sure and tape the thing up with maslking tape around where your going to cut it to avoid the carbon fiber splintering or cracking really bad. I see no reason at all why this wouldn't work..
Not sure how a Wileco is assembled on the inside. But if they are like Yosh or M4, no problem shortening it. The inner sleeve (perforated screen) is pressed onto the end caps. The outer sleeve riveted to the end caps is what hold the whole thing together.
When cutting carbon fiber, use a dremel and a fibered cutting wheel. I use a variable speed dremel and run it at 75-100%. Wear a face shield and a resperator. A good vacuum is handy to have closer to the cutting. Careful, carbon fiber splinters SUCK! If needed you can take some fine sand paper to smooth out a rough areas. btw...I never tape c/f to cut it.
I guess I should have said "the theory is plausible."
I didn't mean sound as in the type of sound you hear.
And hey, can you think of one single other way to shorten a Wileyco?

yep, afew angry slams on the ground and, BANG! you've got yourself a nice shortened and crunched wileyco, (I hear its all the rage in europe)
Thats the best way to shorten them; Cave man style.
