Title: fog city inserts..
Post by: that_guy on January 26, 2006, 11:28:32 PM
Those of you using the fog city inserts  I have a question..  Do you folks notice added glare with these inserts?  I just put mine in tonight and on the ride home I noticed alot of excessive glare.  I really don't think I can leave it in due to this.  Just wanted to know if this is something others have noticed?  I do ride at night alot and im a little worried about it..

I also noticed glare when I put this into my visor. So much so that I decided to remove it. It was very distracting. I either use the breath deflector for my helmet or the anti-fog spray I have in the garage.

You need 100% vision when on a motorcycle, ESPECIALLY at night!  Take no comprimises!

Well, I guess I'd better find a different solution...  I've been thinking about one 'cause the SWEET anti-fog in my Scorp has stopped working...

Doesn't bother me.  It's kinda like riding in the rain; I don't look at the raindrops on my faceshield, I look through the faceshield (and thus through the raindrops).  And, I don't look at lights (of couse, glare comes from an angle).

well when the glare is making me feel like im back in my "younger days" from all the lights flying around, it's not too comfortable.  Riding in the rain and riding with so much glare that i feel like im looking through a kalidescope are two different things.

Try riding in the rain at night with all the car headlights reflecting off the wet asphalt.  Now, that's dealing with glare.

Yeah... Then add a fogged lens onto that...  That's what I've been riding in lately.

I ride to and from work everyday rain or shine.  AND I work nights.

I don't really get what you mean?  I rode one night home with it in and felt very unsafe.  Im not going to even bother leaving it in another day.

I use fog city in my simpson race helmet, i've never really noticed a glare racing under the lights, nor have i noticed it while riding at night. i may have just gotten so used to it from using the product so long.

I was just asking if you were doing all that with the insert in.  I didn't want to assume.  I hope removing it and using the anti-fog solution will work for you.
