I got my AFRAM 17-Tooth Front Sprocket from Bike Bandit.  Click here for their choices (http://www.bikebandit.com/partsbandit/product~pf_id~4712306~dept_id~1411119.asp).  They also offer other manufactures, but I was rather pleased with what I got -- bigger yet lighter sprocket than OEM, AND it had a shoulder on it.

You can read about how I put it on via my Adding a Tooth -- Going Up to a 17T Front Sprocket (http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=21803.0) post.  It was a follow-up to the Sprocket Cover Cleanout & Clutch Adjustment (http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=20468.0) post I started earlier.

You could also browse this Right 15 tooth sprocket for the 2004 Gs500F (http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=21529.0) post.
