Does anyone know if Lockhart Phillips "Marker lights" such as this one:http://street-bikes.ridegear.com/cgi-bin/SoftCart.exe/shop/Marker_Lights/F-5304_Flush_Mount_I_Side_Markers.html?E+scstore will function as turn signals? I need to replace the signals on my FJ and these look nice, I'm not really concerned with DOT approvals. Thanks all!

Thats why they aren't marketed as turn signals, they are not DOT approved. But sure they will work, probably not as bright... they sell them in both 3 wire and 2
A marker light is a light that steadily burns to "mark" the extremes of the bike (left and right).
A signal does just that. Markers lights are NOT bright enough to be converted to signal lights.
I just purchased and installed some flush mount signals WITH marker light capabilities. Just think of this like your amber lights on the front of your car at night.

Marker lights, also known as running lights, because there always on. Some turn signals have running lights built in.
The running lights are always on, but when you turn the signal on, the one side flashes with a brighter light. these types of signals use duel intensity bulbs just like the one in most tail lights.
