Title: Don't sell your GS
Post by: jag69 on February 08, 2006, 07:54:38 PM
I sold my 1997 GS a few months back and I wish I would have kept it.  I bought a 2002 Bandit 600 S.  It is a nice bike but I do miss my little GS.  That's all.

I've hear that from others.  Our dear departed Roadstergal (left the forum-- she's not dead) said as much after she went on a bike buying spree a half year ago.  Ended up buying a GS500 as a rat bike.

Unfortunately, if I buy another ride, I have to sell the GS as there's only physical room for only one bike.  But what you're saying is that I should avoid seller's regret and keep what I've got, eh?  Judging from my bank account, it's not a bad idea.  :thumb:

Love the one ya got.  It's a heck of a lot better than not having any...

Never going to sell mine.
Have two others and they will come and go but the GS
is a keeper.

I'm looking at mid-size cruisers (Suzuki C50T or Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Classic LT) for comfortable two-up riding on day trips, but I plan on keeping the GS for commuting.  I'll park my car in the driveway  to make room for the bikes if I have to.

I'm passing my GS on to my fiancee when I learn all I can from it. So that way it stays in the family :thumb:

I'm not sure yet, but I foresee myself getting rid of the GS.  Even tho it's my 1st bike, I really can't justify keeping two bikes.

I can.

GS for the street and something else for the track.

Hey... If you're not looking it could be totalled by a camry and you wouldn't have regrets.

I kind of miss mine, it was a really sharp ride and I had a lot of money into it.

my next bike will certainly be as practical as the gs. it was a great beginner, but i don't even have a garage for my car, so i'm not gonna keep 2 bikes in the apartment lot. i'll never forget her tho.

I'm one of the minority...

I had to sell my gs to get my new bike and I dont miss the gs AT ALL. I love my 600rr and there's no way I could ride the gs like I do the RR. No regrets.

I dont really want to sell mine either but i bought it new and its worth quite a bit even tho im gunna lose a grand or 2 when it comes time to let her go for the new GSXR600...and ill need the money from the GS to afford it :(

Although i was debating on getting an older GS in mint shape for a decent price...but these bikes sure like to hold there value! :icon_mrgreen:
