just wondering if anyone has used this on their GS...Is it worth it? does it really work? :dunno_white:
I wonder if this gets the 12D idle advance.
I'm not sure how it determines 2/3 gear. Personally I'm looking for off idle from 1st and up.
I also wondered if the Non CanAm Late models with the 12D advance get it by using the older ignition or the new one with a different box or rotor.
linky??????

Thanks Jetswing!!!!!
And my opinion of the "G-pack" (hehehehe) is......... if that's the performance you want then you bought the wrong bike.
Maybe it's just me (*cough*) but I find it hard to take any company seriously that talks about RPM limitators (http://direct.nikkoracing.com/boutique_us/page_libre.cfm?code_lg=lg_us").
Hey, do they make a Tornado (http://www.tornado-fuelsaver.tv/) for the GS? I hear that I could get *up to* 99,000 HP and 50,000,000 MPG with one!
I emailed the US dealer to ask specifics on the G-Pack, in particular, does it change the low RPM ignition advance. The information sent was the same thing from the website, the 2nd/3rd gear power increase BS. I haven't looked at my 05 in detail, but I don't think there is a gear indication output for them to even determine what gear it is in.
I think Egaueus is right, starting to sound equivalent to the Tornado.
AFAIK these G-packs just disable an artificial crippling of the original characteristic that is put there to thwart the sound measurements. These are done as a pass at a certain speed, then, right in front of the sensor, the bike is accelerated at WOT. By modifying the ignition electronics to put out less power in that situation the bike measures less noisy. All the G-Pack does is reverse that artificial restriction.
On a bike that doesn't need this gimmick to fulfill noise regulations (and AFAIK the GS doesn't) a G-Pack does precisely nothing.
I got a g-pack and before i installed it, the bike wouldn't idle right with the new k n filter, wileyco exhaust, and stage 3 jet kit, probably improperly jetted, but it did smoothen out the power curve, i dunno how?? but my bike seems to work better now!!!

Probably just a mental thing.
I think it uses low grade uranium to add nuclear explosions, that is why cheford saw a difference... :icon_rolleyes:
Well for the price at least should....friggen rip off
so this thing is basically bs then?
Apparently not all BS on the newer models. They do have a gear sensor and do modify the characteristics ind 2nd and 3rd somewhat.
But the GS is no power demon, and won't become one wit a G-Pack. There are definitely things to better spend your money on. And be it stickers.
I'd bet it alters the VR sensor signal to the ignition and advances the timing by a few degrees. You would be better off getting/making an ignition advancer
