I picked this bike up for $160. It was in sad shape and was being stored outside on the side of my friends house.
I know nothing about motorcycles, I'm a car mechanic so here is what I came up with in 2 days.

$160 is good for just about any shape. Looks like it'll be a good ratbike or streetfighter with that chopped rear section and custom seat O0
I would be giddy like a schoolgirl if i got a gs for $160! Looks like fun to mess with.
Man, I NEVER find deals like this...
No BEFORE photos? What was the original color?
Good job, though, and at least you've got good weather (when you're not dodging hurricanes) for riding it.
And I thought my $200 ratbike was the cheapest! Good find!!
Oh, and hi, Hugh....er....I mean Cal Amari. Long time no hear from (at least using THAT nickname).
oh man! that thing is mean! it looks really good with that short rear end on it.
Has a Buell/Duc Monster look to it, I like it a lot actually. Nice job!
It looks like with just a few parts the bike should be just as good as any out there. It does remind me of a Ducati monster.
I like it alot...good job :thumb:

I rolled it in my shop looking like this.

does it run?
i got it to run today but the idle sticks :2guns:
I had the carbs off like 20 times and all the fuel lines are rotted. Also the ignition switch was toast so i have it hot wired to a hidden switch. Also need a chain and sproket, fork seals and a brake job. Anyone want to make me an offer on it? 1995 22K miles. runs but needs work.
I got alot of other projects.... and this is only half of them.

where ya located at?
st. petersburg, FL
so whats the askin price? hate that you going to get rid of it so soon
i think it would be cool as hell if the rear was shorten like 3" or so then it would be a great wheely bike with relly minor work to the engine ect......
&fd
First off... the bike is amazing.
Second off... The mustangs are nice too (just sold my '93, tranny died, and I didn't have the time/money to fix it myself, and couldn't pay someone else to do it)
Third off... I'm from Naples and have family in St. Pete... if I had more than like $400 to my name, I'd make you an offer for that bike so fast it'd make your head spin.... If I thought my parents would loan me the money, I'd make you an offer. Hell, I might call em up tomorrow and ask for a loan.. just so they can laugh in my face.... Stupid college tuition ate my savings! I'd love to cut my teeth on a project bike (and break my knuckles too!) It looks damn good, I'm jealous, it's all I can say. Maybe in a month or so, once I have a part time job, if you haven't sold it, I'll try to get some cash together...
*PINES FOR A BIKE*

I just went back and re-read your first post (was actually looking at the pics!) and saw how little you originally paid. Now, I know you put a considerable amount of time and parts into it already.. but what kind of offer are you looking for? (I know I still won't be able to afford it, but a guy can dream, can't he?)
I havent put any money into it. Just used stuff laying around the shop. Unless you really want to nit-pick then I spent like $5 on steel that I welded to re-make the back, $2 for fuel hose and $2 for a switch n wire. Ohh, also $1 premium gas. O0
I appreciate the complements guys. Makes me feel like I have something better than the "nancy boy bike" that my friends all called it when I first got it and it was purple. :flipoff:
Also Id like to comment on the seat. Its actually just big enough to fit a girl with a small butt on the back.

So what do you want for it? $250, $300??? I know you would be happy to flip it and make a quick buck (from your comments). If you say what you want for it you will probably get an offer from a tinkerer.
I really dig what you did in the back.

I agree with that comment. Honestly, I think I might de-pledge from my fraternity and use that money to buy the bike. I would absolutely LOVE to have that thing here on campus to tinker with. It'd be my first bike, but I've done a lot of engine work with my mustang and my friend's '79 vette that we rebuilt. I could take the next MSF and be riding in no time.. wow.. I get goosebumps just thinking about it... I wouldn't be a nood anmore!
My only problem is there's no way for me to get it to Atlanta, aside from a uhaul.. and uhauls are EXPENSIVE.... damn... always gotta be SOME detail in my way...
Bike looks great! You did a very good job with it. Straight up streetfighter. I like the chopped rear end; very streetfighter. One question: where does the licence plate go? (I'm already thinking of a swingarm sidemount)

Ya, or deep under the seat behind the tire :dunno_white:
instead of the uhaul, try enterprise. I got a dodge ram quad cab ffrom sat 9am til monday 10am for $98. They only charge mileage if you're going out of state, but all bordering states are considered local. I actually went 2 states up and put prolly 800 miles on it and they said nothing, but georgia and florida touch, so no worried there. It shoulda be 20 bux more since i'm under 25, but the guy there was cool and didn't charge me. Just another option for us w/out truck access.

I got the bike from a good friend and it diddent run, thats how I got it for cheap. I would prolly sell it for $1,000.

I wasn't going to chastise you for getting rid of that beautiful purple 'til I saw THIS! :nono: The GSTwin men on this site who ride beautiful purple GS's are the sexiest and manliest of men! O0
Let me know when these "friends" are coming over again so I can be there to beat 'em up! :flipoff:
I'll show them what purple power can do! :icon_twisted: :icon_mrgreen:
