Title: 37mm clip-ons???
Post by: chefod on February 11, 2006, 08:56:13 PM
Well i did a search and found that the GS needs 37mm clip-ons, but to my surprise i couldn't find a pair for under $120US plus shipping??? There must be someone on here who can make some fairly easily??? It doesn't look too complicated a piece of 7/8inch bar welded to a 1 to 1 1/2 inch piece with an inside diameter of 37mm?? and a cut on the side of the tube, then weld a couple of tabs to it??? anybody on here wanna make some??? Wouldn't cost that much, i mean in materials, maybe a couple of hours, god damn i wish i had a welder??? any takers?

How do clip ons work as opposed to a standard one piece handlebar?

They are mainly the position...  This changes how you sit

dont think they will work with the F very well cuz of the fairing, much like my 94katana600 the clipons would sit too low on the forks making the controls hit.

Make me a FAIR offer on them, they are in good shape, you can replace the handlebars that slide into them for diff lengths and such,  whats on them came with them in the box.  ive had to straighten out the tubes in a press and they are really close to straight, so close you would have to roll them on a table and look for the wobble.  i also have a set of 89 stock clipons and top plate that are spose to go to go to someone for messuring to make more but i havent heard from him lately HINT HINT HINT!

i have seshadri s clip ons. They re all right but he doesnt make them anymore. The sit on top of the forks so the riding position isnt changed by much. I would say about an inch.

I've been busy and haven't found a machinist! Plus, I think it'd be way out of people's budget range... aww well :(

I've seen some fairly cheap 36mm and 38mm clip ons on ebay. I bet you could get the 38mm ones and just shave a little metal off to allow them to clamp down all the way.
