The good news that the overnight low is going to be 22 degrees instead of 18 when we leave for Florida on Tuesday am.
The bad news is that there is two feet of snow on the ground
and still snowing.
Going to need some advice from the locals.
Starting in NJ. Was thinking of taking 78 to 81 to 75 Tallahassee.
Was going to make a pass on the Dragon but that does not seem possible.
Was hoping to avoid taking 95 all the way down.
Would still like to take 78 to 81 to 75.
75 should not be a problem. 78 will probably be ok.
Not familiar with 81. What are the chance that it be
black and running by Tues around noon?
Taking the V-Strom. Need that windscreen and those heated grips.
I hear the temp isn't gonna go above freezing around here (manhattan) till about tuesday and i got 2 feet of snow outside right now. Supposedly by wednesday the temps will be in the upper 40's and in the 50's by thursday. But i'm pretty sure there's gonna be a lot of snow still left on the ground on tuesday.
I ride all year round but i never ride when there is snow on the ground. Especially on the interstate. This morning on the local news there were accidents on every major highway in the area. IMHO...if you can hold off till the end of the week. ie...not tuesday but maybe thursday..??
Keep the rubber side down..

I'm at the end of your trip (Tallahassee) so I don't know anything about the road conditions up where it snows :), but I'd never ride on ice. That's what the pickup truck is for. A car slides, a bike just goes down.
It's cold here (28 right now), but supposed to warm up to 75 by Thursday, FYI.
I'm not looking to ride on ice.
That is why I posted the question.
In Bergen county they clear the snow pretty quickly.
The interstate highways are cleared as well.
I guess it's going to be 95 down to 85 and toward Atlanta.
