Good clip to watch tho
i never saw the video coming... :icon_rolleyes:
I still find it amazingly accurate.
Ok, how about another video from the biker's perspective. I don't think this has been posted on this site yet.

Repost!!!

i think the point of the video is motorcycles are not visible as cars (or motorists don't look for bikes). so even if you looked once, your eyes may not see the bike. so the message is look and look again.
Here is one you should see if you like pulling a 100+ on public hwy's.
Dangers we face every day.
careful not for the faint of heart. nothing gruesome, but I don't think this guy made it.

Please note that there were nice little "knee/pants protectors" for the vehicle driver before he knelt down!
ok so the first file won't open, cold be my getto work computer. To the second I have to say WTF did the driver of the car pull the E-brake? Its hard to just spin out on a dry roadway in a front wheel drive car just cruising down the road. Maybe they bumped the median but i can't tell from the video. To the third, duh, if you are going to ride like a retard eventually you will get burnt. Hell sometimes it happens if you aren't riding like a retard.

Maybe this is what happens if you manage to get a FWD car into reverse at speed? Just guessing... more likely some stupid driver just decided to ignore the oil light. Don't know why they won't put a flasher/beeper on cars for that, too many think it means "check the engine when you get around to it", like the other idiot lights.
Nope, you can't get a Honda Civic into reverse with any forward motion. There aren't any synchros to go from any gear to reverse unless you're stopped. Reverse to first on the other hand, is a different matter. You can be going reverse in direction but still be able to shift into first. Can't do that with the reverse gear. Yes, I know this from experience.
The Civic's front tires didn't move at all. Most likely the driver was distracted by his cell phone, locked all the tires and bumped the steering wheel a bit and just f$%ed up.
I agree with Alpha. THe cager got scared cause he was coming up on that white van too fast .
he definitely overreacted.
I was hoping people would discuss the bikers reaction. I know it is hard to react to an event in 2 seconds but talking about it may help one of us, should we be in a similar situation.
One possible reaction, maybe that the bike could have turned left to go around the car. OF course how was he to know the car would come that far into his lane, and he probably still woulda hit em.
HE also could have decided to ram the other car instead. the one that was traveling in the same direction.
That may have softened the blow to himself and the bike.
What do ya think?>

The thread regarding the biker that got hit. Her name is Dawn, and she was riding a 1999 YZF-R1. She says she's alright, but I have yet to work through the 27 pages of responses to see what she's going to do about the driver.
