Title: Nolan Roadrunner Helmet
Post by: niteshade on February 19, 2006, 09:03:15 PM
I'm not the wealthiest of folks, and I am looking for my first helmet.  Tried on the Nolan N100E, and it fit great, but I think I'm gonna go full face (not flip).  So, I looked around for another helmet that fit my price range but was Snell certified.  Found this Nolan Roadrunner helmet that looks nice to me... although I'm going to get it in white because I want to paint it myself.  Anybody ever tried one of these on?  How is the air circulation?  Does it fog up?

Thanks.

Everything I've read/heard seems to indicate that when it comes to price vs. performance the Scorpion EXO400 is unbeatable:

But to answer your question; no, I've never seen the Nolan line.

my first helmet was a nolan... and it fit me best of the helmets that were on the market at the time...

when i was shopping for a new helmet last year i tried the scorpion exo 400 and 700...

i ended up going with the exo 700 because it came in yellow... and my primary bike is yellow...

find a helmet that fits your head... and wear it...

Chris

neat... that scorpion helmet looks like a nice model.  Strange how Scorpion doesn't have any dealers in Chicago, though... 2nd City indeed.  I want to try it on, of course.

Chris, did you find that the Scorpion fit like the Nolan?  Because the Nolan fit me well.  Might just order online.  Do these helmet companies generally have a return policy?

this place: http://www.terra-powersports.com/product.aspx/sid/1/mfr/145/id/product.aspx?sid=1&mfr=145&id=30897
has a "perfect fit" guarantee.  You have to pay to ship it back but they'll send the replacement for free.

the nolan extra large fit me good, but i needed a XXL in the scorpion...

the scorpion has much better padding... and you can take it out and wash it in the washing machine... :) always a plus after a long day ride in 90*+ with high humidity...

well, purchased the Scorpion EXO-400 from Terra Powersports.  Got it in Silver!  Seems like a nice enough helmet.  The cheek pads make me feel like Mr. Chubby, though... I'm compacting them under my bedpost for a few days so I can close my mouth while riding. :icon_rolleyes:

Thanks for the input... now all I need is to get my bike the heck out of storage.
