So, last night I sold my GS. It was the right thing to do. I was sort of sad when I put the ad up on Craigs List, and definitely sad to see her go off in the bed of a truck. But it went to a beginner who has never ridden before. He will get a lot out of her, get through the beginner period safely (I hope). So, that was big shock #1. With the cash, the car gets paid off.... Additionally a check is going to Hattar Motorsports. I have put a down payment on this:

I am taking a little trip at the end of March and the salesperson says that a yellow Triumph 675 will be waiting for me when I get home.... AAAAHHHH!!! I can't believe this is for real...
I did the research and can't find another bike that will suit my wants as much at the Triumph does. Thanks everyone for the commentary a week or so ago. It meant a lot, I considered a lot of bikes I hadn't thought about before. But, the suspension, engine and sexiness of the 675 won out....
Thanks again and, yes, I will still quietly lurk... But I won't be posting all the problems I had with my little GS anymore. She is somewhere else now.... With someone else's name on the title....
(sniff)
Sorry, I just get so emotional when they grow up and leave the nest!
Seriously, congrats on the new ride! Enjoy!
Same rules apply to English-made bikes; shiny side up, rubber side down.
Congradulations on the new Triumph! You can still join us on the BAGS rides!
be sure to let us know how she rides. I'm not in the market for a new ride, but if I were, the 675 would be on the short list. That bike is amazingly narrow for the power it packs. I'll bet she's about as flickable as anything out there.
That bike in yellow is gonna look sweet :thumb:
Congrats
Sad that you sold the GS, but what a replacement!! I am jealous!!
NICE!
congratulations...
oooh are you in for a surprise...
He may be refering to the power that puppy is going to put out the first time I start to give it gas. The biggest bike I have ridden to date is an SV650. This is going ot be one hell of a step up. I believe at least a double of HP.... Going to take that first start nice and slow....
I'm sad to see the GS go. If it had been a little more reliable, I likely would have kept it. But, with the situation being as it was, and the availability of the Triumphs being limited, this seemed like the way to go... I am still in shock that I sent the check off....
