Can anyone recommend a good full size riding jacket? (By full size I mean one that covers below the waist).
There seems to be a wide variety of shorter, race-style jackets, but I haven't seen any choices for longer cuts.
Also, something I've been curious about - do the bikes made for commonwealth countries (i.e. England, Australia, etc.) where they ride on a different side of the street have different controls? Or do they have the same bikes, but just ride them on the other side...
bikes are universal with controls...only variences are make specific, not location (with the exception of smog-tight areas).
As for a longer jacket...good luck finding one that's not a fashion cut.

My winter jacket goes down below my waist, but darned if I recall what it is. I'll look at it when I get home. :cheers:

It does look like the long jackets are not in style, however I would imagine them to be more suited for long rides. I would still use a lighter short jacket for riding around town in the summer, but longer trips in cold whether....

Thanks for these examples. Ideally I would like leather as I already have an everyday textile jacket. Length - about as Alpha posted, and hopefully not terribly expensive, otherwise I'll just stick with wht I already have.
You made an interesting point about wearing a longer jacket on a naked bike. I wanted one for my longer road trips this spring/summer, and I thought it would be more comfortable, but since I will lbe riding a naked GS maybe I should think again...

You'd have to go back to 1967 when Triumph made the last 650 Tiger with the right-foot shifter.
You could get a leather duster; the kind cowboys used to wear; full-length, split so you can ride a horse, or motorcycle. Get the seal oiled/waxed kind and they'll be waterproof, until the stuff wears off (takes awhile, costs more). But, I'd wear a m/c jacket underneath.

Real dusters tie the tails to the rider's legs, covering the legs, no flappage...well, minimal flappage.
Maybe, three-quarter length jackets are what you should be looking into, such as the Kilamanjaro, TourMaster's Cortech Advanced 3/4 jacket, Fieldsheer's Zero Condition, AGVSport's...somethin'...

Maybe check out some HD shops see what they have? :dunno_white: Seems to me you are looking for a cruiser style jacket and not a sport jacket.
