I was looking at these:

comments? anyone wear these?
I had a pair of redwing boots years ago... I loved them more than any boot I've ever had... And I really loved some of my boots (Yes, I'm a shoe whore).
I got them when I was 18... Then when I was 20 my feet grew one last time. They didn't fit any more... But, I still tried to wear them.
I don't think they make that style any more... They were lace-up steeltoe with a Kevlar heal and toe cap. :thumb:
I just bought my third pair of Red Wing work boots, and if they are like the previous pairs I'll still be wearing them 5 years from now. They're the most comfortable footwear I have. The great thing is they come in widths, so those of us with narrow feet can wear something that actually fits.

++ Totally! When I bought mine, my feet were like skis... They friggen RULE!! (Too bad my feet got longer and wider or I'd still have them.)
I personally like Bates police boots.
VERY comfortable to walk around in when you get to your destination.

I've worn a lot of different Red Wings over the years, never had a bad experience.
I currently ride with Bates lightweight side zip 8". The zip side is nice since you can tie a solid knot and tuck the laces inside. No more of a snagging hazard than a full riding zip up. I've taken to using them for my all purpose daily boots. On the bike they tend toward the cool side, that is good for me down here. If you need cooler weather boots, probably prefer something else.
We sell them at my work. Very nice boots. Very high quality, highly comfortable, and also more expensive than most of our other boots. (Even the HD's :icon_rolleyes:) We sell a lot of them and everybody always loves them. Never a complaint, return or defect. they will also send you boots in 2 different sizes. ie. left boot 12, right boot 11. for anybody who happens to have that problem.
I'm bidding on a pair of these from e-bay:

If they're good enough for the U.S. special forces then they're good enough for me!

I was wondering if anyone else used combat boots. Most I've talked to either have motorcycle specific boots or something like cowboy boots or work boots. I've got a pair of these on backorder: http://www.altama.com/Tp1/item_detail.aspx?ItemCode=6478
