i'm sitting in my garage with my Clymer and of course my laptop (thank God for wi-fi :)) and i've taken the gas tank off to find out why i'm not getting any fuel to my carbs. Well, i found the problem (a pinched fuel line - wedged by the new clutch cable - oops). While i've got the tank off, i'm gonna clean out the crap pockets and check the filter/screen/thingy.
While i was replacing said pinched fuel line, i discovered that my bike has a California canister that has been completely disconnected. Nothing blocked off anywhere...just disconnected. Should i try and replace and reconnect the missing hoses? Any thoughts? i searched and found that people frown upon disconnecting it. But, if you do...block it at the rollover valve. What should i do?
Thanks in advance. This community is amazing.
is the canister itself disconnected and the hoses that go to it not plugged up? if the canister is disconnected its no big deal but the hoses should be plugged, except the one that vents the tank itself.
yeah, basically everything is just disconnected. Should i plug the holes in the carbs where the purge hose is supposed to go? It seems like leaving them open like that wouldn't be good...
