Title: new stuff
Post by: makenzie71 on March 06, 2006, 01:26:31 AM
Took a couple of pics in good light.  I finnished up the exhaust and this is basically the general look of the bike.  I'm going to do something with the frame...not sure what yet...and the front fender needs to be coated.  Thinking of coating the tail too.  Tank is covered in bedliner.  Awesome stuff.

I forgot...I need to paint up the header pipes.  I'll probably do that tonight.

Looks good Mak.  Is it me, or does your can look rusted?  I know you torched it in a pattern, so it might just be the way the camera took the pictures.

It just looks that way.  The pic really doesn't show the pattern very well.  Lots of reds, blues, greys and browns mixed together.  Stainless does some cool stuff when you burn the polished finnish off it.

Saw a mid 80's chevy pick up with a complete red bedliner paint job.
Thought it was kind of cool, never thought of putting in on a bike, who needs sliders.
Pretty set up.
Nice feedlot, you in the panhandle?

interesting. I think it needs yellow seat covers and wheels. too stark just the frame in yellow.

yeah the frame's gonna get changed.  next time I have the oportunity to strip it all back down again I'm going to either bake a few coats of black enamel on it or cover it in bedliner...I may actually go out and just "cover" the frame up with some flat black or something before I leave in the morning...dunno.  It seemed like it'd be a cool idea when it first walked into my head...now I kick myself...lol.

She's also now got my black spoke/brushed lip wheels.

...personally, the yellow frame looks better with the current wheels.  The bronze really clashes with the yellow.  Still going to get changed, though.

think about a yellow stripe, ala Monster.

Actually the original idea was to have a yellow stripe offset down the length of the bike, then a dotted line beside it (a la "passing zone"), to go along with the yellow frame but the paint didn't adhere to the frame propperly...that's the biggest reason behind wanted to change it.

Oh well...as she is I have no worries about anyone stealing her and she sure is visible.

I think the yellow is great, especially if you blacked out the engine.
