Hi all. Bought a 92 GS500E a few weeks ago for my wife for her first bike. The throttle doesn't want to snap back if you take your hand off of it. It just stays where it is. I'm guessing it's a throttle cable issue? If it is, is this a PITA to replace or is it a simple job?
Thanks
Rick
Did you already try lubing it? And the carb boots aren't too tight, causing the butterfly to hang open? As far as it being easy, it depends on your definition of PITA. You'll have to take the tank off (be sure to turn off the shutoff valve), but just thread the new one in, right along side the old one before you remove it. :thumb:
No, I haven't done anything to it yet, but I do have a new cable for it. I have moderate mechanical skills. By that I mean I do my own tune up and fluid swaps on my K100LT. So it sounds pretty doable for some one like me?
Absolutely! :thumb:
