yes, I noticed that the 1st time I had to lube the chain. it was filled with all kinds of crap that wouldn't otherwise be there if the sticky lube did not exist.
the 'won't fly off' slogan is pretty amusing too (as if the chain were static when doing 70mph).
so, for how long can a chain go lubbing it the 'old' way? more than the 20k range the guy claims?

I'm using this new stuff, Duomonde Tech, chain lube and o-ring conditioner, on a brand new chain. We'll see how it goes.
IMO, if the mfr recommends cleaning and lubing the chain every so often, I'm going to do that.
Trying to lub just particular parts of the chain seems a bit tedious...I just douse the chain. Works great and they last me forever. I give new chians a good chot of WD40 to clean the lithium grease off them and then warm them up. Lift the rear, start spinning the tire by hand and spray away. I then grab the chain with a rag and spin the rear some more to clean off the excess.
Yea, it does seem a little tedius, seems like it takes some time to do this, but I've only done it twice now. About every 500 miles or so, at 300 miles a week the miles rack up pretty quick. Here's the lube (http://www.aerospacelubricants.com./cgi-bin/beacon7/AL?ID=MANIFl0TujM&details=491) that I've been using. One guy on a goldwing board passed this lube on to me.
