Title: carb "blow-back"
Post by: l3uddha on March 16, 2006, 03:01:00 PM
I just read a thread about someone having a gas smell coming out of their carbs. It got me thinkking about something I noticed on my bike just the other day. when I had my bike at idle on the side stand I noticed some smoke or fumes coming out from the carb area. I say "area" because it's a wide open space now that i've ripped out the airbox and installed 2 K&N pod filters. once I revved it up a bit the smoke went away, obviously b/c air is being sucked in. It was also a cold morning. the bike hasn't sounded or felt unusual at all... and it doesnt smell like gas... maybe it's just warm air or something?  just curious- it's also a 2004.

maybe it was condensation boiling off the engine?
