hey guys, this is my first post, i read the boards all the time, i am looking at putting a new seat on my gs500f and was wondering what everyones take on it is. i have looked at corbin, but they are a bit pricey. i just need some thing witha bit more cusion in it. any advice will be greatly appriciated

No one makes a seat for the F. Corbin's seat is for the '89-'00 models only. Your only option is to get it custom fitted, which will run you ~$200 to $250.

There are some pictures, and in the first post, there is another link to another thread with the mfr website.
Corbins have significantly less padding than stock seats. They are much firmer, but sculpted better.
If the above link doesn't work out, or you don't want to DIYS, might try Sargent and see if they have an F seat yet.

Even if you don't want to modify your original seat, you could always find one for sale somewhere (in the For Sale forum, or on eBay...), then have it modified by a local upholstery shop according to the instructions in those links.

well i just read the threads and the how to's. and i think i have decided that it is much more cost effective to put a new piece of foam in my seat rather than trying to get a new seat to fit my bike. besides what is the fun of just buying something that will already fit, i know i had a grand time getting my vance and hines exhaust to fit just right so that there were no leaks. yea not to much fun when the exhaust is coming from under the ferring. works great now though lol
