I know i might catch some guff for asking for a comparison between two kawasakis on our lovely suzuki forum.
but anyways.. has anyone thought about these two bikes?
I like the feel of both (zzr600 a little more leaned forward, but not as far as a zxr-6, and i also like the feel of the z-750s which feels more upright like our gs500's)
i do a lot of around the down riding, some longer commutes, probably never more than 100 miles in one trip
any ideas?
what do you like/dislike about these?

I bought an '05 Z750S last year to upgrade from my GS. I did a brief review on here somewhere - you can probably find the thread if you search. I really like the bike. Never been on a ZZR600 to compare the two.
I like both bikes. My personal taste leans towards the ZZR600 due to old-school sportbike looks. If you're curious of a comparison of the ZZR600 vs Yamaha YZF600R vs Honda CBR600F4i, have a look at the Motorcycle Consumer News Model Comparison (http://www.mcnews.com/mcn/model_eval.asp).
Another good resource is to browse the Motorcycle Daily site. They have a review of the 2005 Z750S (http://www.motorcycledaily.com/21april05_z750.htm) as well as one for the 2005 ZZR600 (http://www.motorcycledaily.com/14february05_zzr600.htm).
Unless you know a dealer or private seller that will let you ride both, you'll ultimately have to roll the dice. Doubt you'll go wrong with either though. Suggest you get an Insurance quote -- it can help make up your mind. Let us know what you decide.
i was leaning towards the zzr600, but my mind keeps going back to the sv650, i like the idea of a twin, plus the fact i can get one almost a grand cheaper.. i need to finance (college student) so ill be buying from the dealer.. this is the year to make my move.. i just cant decide.. i know everyone says the sv650 is plenty of power, but what about compared to an i4? im guessing way more low end power? can the sv650 power wheelie? does it have that kind of power.. plus with the lower fairing on the sv650s it looks bad ass..
any advice

the sv650 is more like the z750, with less power, but more aftermarket/online support. I'd opt for the sv if you were leaning that way, because it makes a better street bike IMO. so long as you like vtwins that is. Otherwise the zzr600 will be a better long ride bike, more wind protection, etc. I prefer full bodywork so I would opt for the zzr. personally the z750s isnt the prettiest bike out there...
Just throwing this out there, I picked up my new bike last week, I got a 2002 Triumph Speed Four with 3,800 miles for $4,000. Mine is a low milage sample, but you can find them from $4000-5000 with under 15k miles anywhere. I love it so far, put 100 miles on her today.
You were asking about power wheelies too, once I hit 5,000 rpms, if I crack the throttle, she points to the sky.
Between the two though, I would go the Z750S, they're both old school tech, but the ZZR600 is a dinosaur (unless they've updated it recently, I think it's the same basic bike as was made in 199x). The Z is a nice riding position too.
the zzr600 is the old zx6r used to be before the current model zx6r is, so its 2001 or 2002 updated.
I missed that update I guess. You're going to be a lot happier with that ZZR600, it's a better bike than the Z.

They like every bike they review, but it still explains some stuff.
