Title: time to buy moto pants...
Post by: calamari on March 21, 2006, 10:18:24 PM
but, how do i know the right size for me?

I mean, i'm thinking about ordering the Joe Rocket Alter Ego Textile Pants from newenough, and their sizes are small, medium, large, etc... with waist sizes of 29-32, 32-34, etc... and what the heck is the 'Inseam' (an online translator didn't help)

So I looked at my own jeans and saw the label, and it says 36x32, so I was like  :dunno_white: what's the 36 number? and the 32?
What if I want to wear these pants over jeans (taking the waterproof liner off)...
I was thinking, if it's rainy then I leave liner on, but if it's summer and I have to get somewhere, then I take liner off and also the mesh panel, and put them over jeans.

i'm thinking about ordering tomorrow. anyone has experience with this particular brand/model?

36 x 32 means that it has a 36 inch waist and a 32 inch inseam.

If you want moto pants to wear OVER jeans, get them a few inches bigger, like 2 or so, maybe.

36 waist? oh come on... I don't have such a fat bunny
darn it I will have to post a photo of me to prove it... (maybe)

something's fishy about the sizes... I've never had to buy XL pants before  :icon_confused:

ok, I figured what the Inseam means (from crotch to end of leg... no?) and it appears that I am in fact 36 bunny.  8)
I guess is XL for me  :icon_rolleyes:
so anyone tried these pants?

You are correct about the inseam.

This pissed me off when I bought pants through new enough.  I wear a size 34 khakis regularly, I fit into a size 36 if its sales rack Banana Republic and nice looking, but not ordinarily.  The track pants I bought were size 36 and don't come close to fitting still and I've lost 10 lbs.  If anyone wants to buy them, $80 brand new... all yours.  36-32.

I bought a pair of moto pants from NewEnough last year in the size I normally get, and they didn't fit. I had no problem at all returning them for a refund. Their customer service has always been outstanding. Yes, I had to pay shipping, but the pants were such a deal that I didn't have a problem with it (plus, I know that I can NEVER buy clothes/shoes w/o trying them on, so I knew I was acting like a wildchild and rolling the dice).  :icon_rolleyes:

subc - newenough is awesome, they have a very flexible return policy and fantastic customer service.  You should send them an email with your measurements and they will probably tell you which size to get and how certain models run compared to others.

:thumb: to newenough!

If you get the alter ego pants, let me know how they work out. Those are the pants I have had my eye one for a while, but can't afford them yet.
