alittle over 4k on my bike, and when i get over 5k the engine revs up but it feels like something is holding the bike back. This just means the valves need to get adjusted right??
Do you mean that after 5K there seems to be no more power?

What year is it? What intake / carb / exhaust mods have been done, if any? Give us some details, and we can probably help you figure this out...
It's a 2000, stock and it's been crashed: http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=18239.msg164380#msg164380

I'd say, check the ignition rotor and then the carburetor float levels. You're probably over 15,000 miles now, and at 16,000 miles, I suggest a valve adjustment. The valve adjustment may not clear up your problem. I suspect it's carburetion. Does it happen in all gears?
yes it happens in all the gears, but the bike will eventually get up to speed, i have around 19k miles on the bike. AFter teh crash it still ran fine, no problems....but i think after the 4k miles i put on it, its prob time for another valve adjustment.
so its prob valves right?
Check your carburetor float levels using a clear tube and the 'clear tube method'. Search if you are unfamiliar with the method.

Why not just check them and see?
