Title: Some mechanical help needed
Post by: D-Day on March 22, 2006, 01:29:13 PM
How do you remove the rear cam chain tensioner block? (the one that the cam chain tensioner rides on at the rear of the engine) I have one that is worn, and I would llike to replace it.

Thanks,
Paul

Okay, I looked it up in the manual and you will have to seperate the cases to do so.  Chapter 4 - Engine Top End, pg. 117, Figure 50 shows its orientation with the camchain; the seating bosses are down where the chain wraps around the crank.
Chapter 5 -Eng. Lower End, pg. 169, Figures 81 & 82 clearly show the dampeners that hold the rear tensioner rail, in the upper case half, where it mates to the lower half.

Thanks for the info.
