My wife passed her MSF course :thumb: and wants to get a cruiser around the 600 to max 750cc range. But I wanted it to be fuel injected. Is there such a bike? :dunno_white: If you know of one please note make and model would greatly appreciate it.

This time I searched Breva and injected with username Roadstergal.
Is there a reason you prefer a bike with fuel injection over a carb? Carbs have been around for over 100 years and they work pretty well. And if you have a dead battery on a bike with fuel injection, you can't push start it because you won't have fuel, either.
Just a thought.
Not fuel injected, but in my humble opinion the best starter cruiser going.... the Kawasaki Vulcan 500 LTD.
At 440lbs it's heavy enough for the highway but light enough to manhandle around. It's chain drive, so at 498 CC's it outpulls most of the shaft-driven 650's.
Very reasonably-priced.
Thanks for the reply's. I didn't think one exhisted but I wanted to ask sence there is alot I don't know. We'll go and check the Kawi and Yamaha dealer this weekend. Oh one more question what would a 50 cubic inch engine be in cc's?

Thanks is shaft drive better than belt drive? On the spec sheet it listed final gear as shaft drive :dunno_white:.
You know... I don't know... I've heard people say one thing and some say another thing...
My understanding is that you lose some power because of the shaft drive... But, a belt can slip... Or something.
Shaft drive == No Chain Lubing or Adjustments :icon_mrgreen:
chain or belt or shaft drive? they all have good and bad...you can argue all night as to which is better.
plus, it's a cruiser...not that significant. in my opinion, maintenance free is always :thumb:
Plus, it's way harder to cut your fingers off with a shaft. :icon_twisted:
Cool I'll take the wife out and see if she like's one of the Boulevard's. She did like the Honda Shadow VLX but it only has a 2.9 gal fuel tank and .9 of that is the reserve.

The C50 and M50 have a nice 4.1 Gal tank... But the S50 has 3.2 Gal and the S40 has 2.8. :nono:
The S40 is light as hell and a Blast to ride (my sister has one)... It's a Thumper (single cyl)... When I ride it, the only thing I think is WEEEEE! It's not fast, but it REALLY doesn't need to be. It has nice torque that kicks your backside so nicely. :laugh:
The C50 and M50 are nearly 200 lbs heavier than the S40... :icon_confused: Not so light...
I just traded my '04 GS500F in on a leftover '05 M50, and I can tell you that the M50 is one heck of a ride. The fuel injection is awesome - no choke, no stutters, no adjustments to be made. No maintenance on the shaft drive, no maintenance on the battery, no fuel reserve switch (idiot light). Hazard flashers a built in clock, and that oh-so-sexy speedo gauge sweep when you fire it up! ;)
The HP is about the same as the GS500F, roughly 45-50, but the M50 feels faster off the line because there's so much more torque down low. Of course it doesn't rev to 11K like the GS, but you don't need it. It's heavier than the GS, and you do feel it a bit in low speed turns. If you're wife is on the small side, the M50/C50 might be a little heavy for her to start out on. Oh yeah, and the 50cu=805cc.

If thats true then why can I bump start my Accord when the battery is dead? Or do you mean dead as a door nail dead like no charge @ all.

Again thanks for the input. My wife has been riding alot longer than I have she just got her license because Ga would not transfer her Korean motorcycle license. We went to the Honda/Yamaha dealer and sat on quite a few bikes but but she didn't like most of them.
The M50 she liked alot but she thinks it'a too heavy for her.
In the end she decided to take my GS and told me to get a new bike. :o

Just FYI, shaft drive fluid will need to be changed every two years. It's not completely maintenance free, but it is sooooo much nicer and cleaner and easier and...
