Title: Brake Light Modulator
Post by: porsche4786 on March 28, 2006, 09:17:07 PM
Anybody have one of these? http://www.kisantech.com/index.php?cat_id=3 I don't see anywhere that says LED lights are required. They are pretty spendy, but I like how these flash quickly then deaccelerate to a steady light, where other brands just flash 3 times then steady for 3.5 seconds.

EDIT: I finally found that it is actually a bulb with a microchip in it. I guess that would get spendy after it burns out.

I'm on record as favouring that product, but haven't made the plunge.  I may have seen bikes with that device on it and I like what I saw.

Don't think you can go wrong, but the $110 (for a 10W-2Pak) is a tall price.  Sure, our safety is worth it and I may yet bite.

Last year my wife tailed me home at night and commented that I was not very noticable at night.  I don't ride much at night, but the point of making yourself more visible in any situation is never a bad move.

There's a dealership near me that sells something that does the EXACT same thing.  but only for $65.  If you want, I could check into it a bit more, and could get it for ya and ship it

The "BackOff" one is pretty cheap. But I like how the other one blinks. These are only like $35. But I'm also wondering will that wear out the bulbs quickly? And maybe it's better to go to LED brake light. Unless they are a pain to install like LED signals.
