Title: Airbox question: Why is the drain tube plugged at the end?
Post by: gsmetal on April 01, 2006, 10:42:30 AM
Why is the drain tube plugged on the end of my airbox?

Shouldn't it "Drain" or is it plugged for vaccuum reasons.

Mine is shot and I'm wondering if I can just go to the hardware store and buy a new tube and plug it or if I have to go to the Suzi dealership and spend $15.00 on  stock hose.

If it is the stock hose, it is not plugged - take a close look at the end, there is a slit in what appers to be s solid piece.  This allows oil/water and other crud to drain but keeps this from being an air leak into the airbox - which could just as easily suck up dirt/mud/water and crud.

Get the correct piece from the dealer.
