Title: ignition coils???
Post by: AnOleGS4me on April 01, 2006, 03:35:35 PM
ok... i previously posted about my left cylinder running rich/fowling/black
I did all the carb checks... now I'm checking ignition

I switched the coils on the bike and it ran terribly... I would have tried to drive it and see what happens but I couldn't get out of the driveway

Does this point to coils... or are they cylinder specific?

no the coils are independent. However you do need to have the right plug wire going to the correct cylinder.

Sounds like it fires [is that the coil produces an electrical current] Are the wires scriss crossed everwhere? Melted anywhere? makind a ground some where on the cooling fins?

I'd replace the plugs and install new coil wires. and double check the timing.
