So, I had my whole day open and it wasn't raining much... So, I decided to ride the whole day away. About 10 miles into it I decided that my chain was just too damn loose and I really needed to tighten it up. I grabbed my tools right when I got home and headed down to the garage. My friend called me to see if I wanted to do something. I suggested going to look at motos at Renton Motorcycle, since he's looking to buy one... And I went on trying to adjust my chain...
Well, it turns out that I don't have the right socket to get the nut off (last time I used my father-in-law's tools), so I tried using my adjustable wrench   Well, I figured out that wasn't going to happen so I gave up and cleaned my REALLY dirty rear wheel... My wife came home with some food, so I ate and my friend showed up... Off we went to RMC.
I REALLY wanted to ride, so I took my bike and he followed me. When we got there, he told me one of my brake lights was out... :icon_confused: We looked at a bunch of bikes (I'm trying to get him to buy the brand new Yellow '04 GS they have there) and they closed... I manage to totally space out and didn't buy a tail light. :icon_rolleyes:
Then the FUN started.
On the way to the freeway, some lady decided that she REALLY wanted to be right where I was and decided to change lanes, speed up, and change lanes DIRECTLY INTO ME... Luckily I was on it. I swerved out of her way and sped as far away from her as I could get. Then when I was getting on the freeway, three more people tried to hit each other right in front of me... Again I tried to speed off... Tried... I hit my reserve RIGHT THEN. I eventually made it safely to my own private carpool lane.
I stopped by the hardware store to pick up the socket I need to adjust my chain, they were out of them. :? I headed to Sears... Closed... I had no choice but to go home...
On the way down the road, someone started flashing me with their headlights... I pulled over and checked my headlight. Burned out! GREAT! I spaced again and hit my kill switch rather than the brights. The sun was going down and I was clearly out of it. I REALLY needed to get off the road... I started the bike, hit the brights, and rode off... The damn brights indicator was really damn distracting and I was apparently rather distracted thinking about my chain, tail light, and headlight... 'cause I TOTALLY ran a RED LIGHT... AUGH!!! :oops
So, two burned out lights and a loose chain still await me... And about four hours ago I realized that I had one thing I need to do today and I totally spaced it... BAH!
Well, at least I got to ride. :icon_mrgreen:
wow.
your bike's falling apart... and you still ride it!?! :o
I guess I'm kinda stupid. :icon_razz:
I just need some tools and some lights... And some rear brakes... And an oil change... And a valve adjustment...
I'm assuming you don't have the original tool pouch under the seat? Everything you need to adjust the chain (and more) is in there. Not exactly Craftsmen tools, but they work.
You know... I totally forgot about that.
Geeze... I clearly woke up on the stupid side of the bed this morning. :cookoo:
what the heck is everyone doing awake at 2am on monday morning? don't you people have to do something called 'WORK' ?
me? i'm looking for one 8)
I work nights I am always up this late
I'm just being stupid... I have to be up in 6 hours.
Speaking of being stupid... I thought of the other stupid ass thing I did today... I almost ate it in a corner when I shifted and popped the clutch... I was trying to avoid a bag of cement that broke open by the corner... Oops.
the cat took my spot, so I can't go to bed until she wakes up :icon_rolleyes: darn furry animals
It's a cat dude... Fling it on the floor... It'll deal.
RV,
It sounds like your "Karma" was all wrong to ride that day. Take a day off, bond with your bike w/tools and light bulbs, rub on it, and wait for the sun to shine.
With all those lights suddenly burning out I'd take a very close look at my voltage regulator.

:o Glad to hear you made it out of yesterday alive! :o
Damn dude. Maybe you need my title instead of me...
I sure needed it yesterday.
I'm not riding today... or until I adjust my chain and get lights. :nono:
