I bought the LED brake light from clear alternatives and put it on today. They also give you a clear or smoked lens but I put the red back on because I think it looks better and it is a tad brighter as well. The LED bulbs are nice, if you can change your normal bulbs you can put these in, took about 5 minutes. They go in the same way the stock bulbs do. The pictures are in the order of running light, running light, brake light, brake light.

I don't see where you can buy just the bulbs from them. Unless you get an LED board with the wires comming out.
edit: damn, now I see where you buy just the bulbs....

What about at night... Does the plate get enough light?
It lights it up a little, I'll try and get a picture tomorrow. I compared it to my dads harley and it's just about as bad. Did the plate ever light up that well to begin with?
IMO it did. but the stock bulbs are round, so there was light even when just the running lights were on. With the platter design of those LED fixtures, none of the LED beams are aimed down. THis concerns me...
I'm not worried about it, I also don't have a front plate on my car :o .... ssshhhh!
Well, I took a couple pictures tonight when it got dark. I didn't feel like getting the tripod out and I couldn't hold the camera still enough. But, I can say that the license plate does get some light and it gets more light than my dads 883 gets with the stock taillight. I can read it from 20 feet away. Is that good enough? I'd say so.
at worst case scenario, you could just wire in one or two wide angle white LED's that point down to your license plate. That's what a friend of mine did on her EX500 and it looks fine.
And that way, the Po-po can't bother you at all. :thumb:
