Title: Front rim compatibilty
Post by: Olivieeeer on April 05, 2006, 05:54:29 AM

Hi,  I have to change my front rim and want to replace it with a 3.50 one.

What are the models that fit into GS forks ? I wonder about bearings compatibilty ..

  Thanks

The Katana 600 wheels were same 3.0 and 3.5" as GS500 thru 97 and the 98 and later Kats now have the wider 3.5 and 4.5" wheels.  Could be the 3.5" Kat front would fit the GS?

The 98-02 750 Kats also have 3.5" front wheel and have the same bearing and spacer part numbers as the GS500.

I guess Katana is the GSXF in Europe.

I think i will measure my rim and search one which will potentially fit. This sunday I'll go to a second hand market. If i find a rim I will post here what model and some pics.

Yes, the Katana = GSXF.  The Bandits have different wheel bearings with different ID and OD from those on the GS500 and GSXF600 & 750 so would require more work to make fit on the GS.

It's not a problem. Besides, I plan to change bearings on the new rim, for security. It's some 6204 if I well remember. :)

The problem is especially speed sensor compatibilty, and spacer width.

For the tire .... I found a pilot power 120/70 in good condition behind a motorcycle shop.  :thumb:
