I am looking for a GS and I keep seeing GS500 or GS500F. What are the differences? If I had to guess I would say one is naked and one has Fairings.
I found my own answer. I guessed right. Damn I'm good.
No F means Faster silly! :thumb:

:laugh: You guys are mean. :icon_twisted:
GS500 == Goes Slow 500
GS500 == Goes Slow 500 Fugly
That's classic. :laugh:

Keep in mind Paul, there are SOME slight differences besides JUST the fairing. You can do a search or check the GS500 FAQ (http://gstwin.variders.com) for more information. For example, the 04+ F's have some changes in the ignition and carburators. The later model E's I think and the F's have slightly different rear turn signals if I am not mistaken. The F has an oil cooler, the E doesn't. Little stuff but nothing really revolutionary :thumb:
BTW, don't let these guys fool you. They totally have fairing envy. :flipoff:
correct me if im wrong but isnt the f there because its after e? gs500e then the gs500f. I think i thought it stood for fairing a while back too :dunno_white:
the e designates the 89-00 gs500e models (all naked). the 2001-2003 gs500 models got a significant cosmetic redesign and they also dropped the e. there were some mechanical changes in teh 89-00 run too but not many-major one I remember is the front brakes were changed in 94...96 or so. The F was added when the new fairing model came out and could be because its after e or because its got a fairing...
I prefer clothes, if you saw me naked you'd inderstand why :icon_lol:
