Title: New grips
Post by: 97gs500e on April 11, 2006, 11:38:44 AM
I lowsided a few weeks ago, and tore up the end of my left grip.  I know nothing about grips, what kind should I get?  I'm thinkin I should also get some bar ends too.

What ever happened to my avatar?

search 'gip's man, there was a thred a couple of weeks ago about them. search for 'pro grip' aswell.

as for your avitar, go to the place or site where it was orriginaly hoseted, they've probably taken the picture down or moved it witch is why you get the little red x

Read these threads for more information; you'll find pictures of what are probably the two most popular gel-filled grips, both made by Pro-Grip:

Pay attention to the differences between the two styles; ask any questions before you buy anything or start cutting off the old grips. If you want to use bar-end weights, buy the open-end style; if you're not going to install bar-ends, buy the closed-end style.

Here is a page where you can compare the different styles available:

I've used the 719s previously, but recently bought a pair of 724s at a local shop, so I can try them to see which ones I prefer... haven't installed them yet, but will eventually... probably not much (if any) real difference between the two, except for the style.

You shouldn't have any problem finding them locally, though if you want the two-color style, you might have to place an order, then wait for them to arrive.
