Title: Has Anyone Installed GSXR Mirrors?
Post by: TragicImage on April 13, 2006, 07:37:43 PM
Has Anyone Taken the mirrors off of a new GSXR and thrown them on their bike?

Any wiring or mounting difficulties?

They will fit,  the holes will line up.  They will not look right at all.  If you take off your windscreen and the back of the fairing you will see the metal fairing bracket, on the GS the holes are pointed about 45 degrees out, while the gsxr they are pointed stright up, then there holes stick up a about 1/4" out of the fairing.  Also the gsxr mirrors bolt in from the bottom I was thinking if you bore out the holes it would fit.

So if you wanted to use the gsxr mirrors you would have to twist the bracket fairing so the holes pointed up but if you look at your fairing where the holes would line up is not a flat pice it's a bit curved.  Also you would have to trim off the holes a bit.  Then the fairing would look werid where the mirror used to be because it's flat there and nothing is there.  Not sure if this would work but I was thinking of of cutting the back of the stock mirror out ( Only thing inside is styrofoam and metal plate ) and glueing the turn signal light into it.  But then you would have wire visable from the outside . .  . if anyone figures out a way that doest cost an arm and a leg please post it up.  already have a fairing with the turnsignal holes filled and repainted
