because I'm looking at relocating my rear turn indicators and:
1. The reflector bracket is exactly the same size as the one I'd make myself
2. They get in the way
3. Cleans up the look.
The one facing backward is, but you can get around this by attaching red reflective tape to the back of the bike; I think you are required to have 3 square inches by California law. I'm not sure where you'd put such tape on your newer model bike. Mine is on the bodywork. Picture is at work.
As far as I know, they're just there to increase your visibility. I took mine off months ago.
thank you very much for the information.
I was looking through the owners manual and nothing was mentioned, and the CA DMV site didn't have much to say either.
I shall take pictures, and let you all know how it goes.
mines gone too.
reflectors? these bikes come with reflectors ;) lol I bought mine when no reflectors on it. front or rear. never had a problem. the bike was inspected fine without them.
My bike doesn't have reflectors on the back but it does have on the ones on the front. NY says you need to have one red rear reflector but how many harleys do you see with reflectors all over, i think its one of those laws thats selectively enforced...like baffles in pipes
