I've had the bike out for a few weeks now, but mostly just rode around town so far and to work and back, that sort of thing. Saturday was my first real ride of the season. I met up with 6 other guys from a local CNY board. Two of them are also members here, and one of them has a GS (as you will see in the pic below). The other guys had an R6, SV650S, a Ninja 250, CBR600rr, and a YZF600r. Good group of guys, tho.
We had a great time, but it was more of a sport ride than what I typically do. I see my GS as more of a sport touring kind of bike; I do a lot of long, scenic rides and use it to commute. That is why I bought it and what I enjoy. But this weekend I explored sport riding a little closer than I ever have, and it was alright. I wouldn't call it my "cup of tea", but I'd like to learn more and do it again :thumb: I need to refine my cornering techniques, which I'll work on.
Here is a pic that one of the guys took of the group:

I also took the bike out again by myself for a short while and snapped a few pics:

In all, it was a good weekend. I prolly logged a good 200+ miles. w00t!
Sounds similar trip I took last weekend with a local group of sport riders, though there were around 20 of them and all were on 600 or 1000 SS bikes of one kind or another. I stayed toward the back, but was riding a lot faster than I normally do. Not sure it's my cup of tea either, but it was nice to be out for a ride anyway. I still haven't decided if I will ride with them agian... maybe if there were fewer riders or split the pack up 2 or 3 ways.
I can't wait to get out and do the same.
