Then see what time it is... How the weather is... Etc...
And if anyone is up for heading out to Bremerton later in the night, my band Evil Twin (http://www.eviltwinrocks.com) is playing a show at the Manette Saloon.
want to go for a ride tomorrow?
I got that new job so I'm FREE on weekends!
I'm in. (for the 20th).
Also, if something goes down tomorrow, I'm also in. I was planning on going out for a ride anyway.
lets ride
where should we go SR20, Mt. Rainier :dunno_white:. RVertigo was telling me about a good local ride we should try, maybe he will chime in.
I'm still a bit of a newbie, so I prefer not to go TOO far from my house. :)
How about over in the carnation/duvall/monroe area? There are tons of SUPER twisty roads out there that are quite fun.
I should also clarify that I'm available until 4pm. Comcast is coming out between 4-6, and the girl gets off work at 6, so I have to be home by 4. :)
OK lets just meet up some place, stare at a map for a while, and ride. anyone feel free to join.
PMed ya with my info
Hm, anyone else from around here going to come along?
YO!
I'd love to go riding... I'm not sure what my schedule looks like past noon... But, I have to meet up with the Mortgage loan chick in Redmond...
I'll talk to the wifey about it and see what's up... I have your cell BBLint, so I'll either call tonight to let you know what's up or call tomorrow to let you know that the wife cracked the whip and I couldn't come.
Oh and... I REALLY need to tighten my chain.
Hope you can make it RVertigo.
I'll be calling BBLint sometime in the morning around 10am. I figure we can meet somewhere on the east side and then look at some maps and go riding. :)
Anyone else in the Seattle area interested?
Chain tight, cleaned, and lubed!
I'll be on the eastside around 1:00... Check your PMs!
So is this May 20th one still happening?
Yeah... There's someone coming into town that day. :icon_mrgreen:
I'm down for a ride on May 20. I get off work at 4pm so it would be kinda late. Let me know.....I have not been on the message board much lately sorry......
Maybe we could meet up somewhere.... I think we'll start around 10-12...
I'm down for the whole day.
i wish i could go :( i'll be out of town till may 21st. i'm a newb so it's not like you'd get to meet me for long except as a dot in your mirrors.
We were all newbs once...
Maybe we can have a GS BBQ at a park, then who ever wants to ride can ride... Or maybe the other way... Ride, BBQ, Ride more. :icon_mrgreen:
Just picked gs500 on Friday. Gave it basic maintance, oil, filters, plugs, chain. It sounds better now.
Would love to see and hear other people's twins and know what to aim for.
I am in North Bend. Did we already decide where and when to meet?
Cheers,
Jenya
I don't think we've decided yet... it's up to RVertigo, as he's got some special friend he's meeting. :)
Davipu is coming up from Or-E-Gone... So, I dunno what he has in mind... He's a little more Gung Ho than I am (which isn't much at all)... So, I was gonna bug him about where to meet, ride, etc, etc.
:dunno_white:
Just discovered a pretty significant oil leak on the left side. Either I wasn't looking carefully when buying this bike, or it wasn't there, or seller cleanned it very well. Perhaps it is the oil change I did on it. Wasn't a synthetic oil, but some high quality Castrol with something synthetic in it.
At any rate, tonight will clean it well and try to see where it is coming from. Guessing either oil pan or left side crankcase. Then will need to order gaskets and replace. Speaking of, what is a good motorcycle parts place in the area? I work in Bellevue.
Cheers,
Jenya
In Bellevue? :dunno_white: There's a Suzi/Ducati dealer on NE 24th I think.... (Left side if you're heading towards downtown)
Bent Bike? Aurora Suzuki?
Yeah,
I tried Suzuki dealership on 20th. Eastside Road-something. Too many salesmen there for my comfort.
Jenya
Everytime I go in there... it's near closing time, they're bringing the bikes in, and some dorky salesman drops one of the bikes. I don't think I'd ever buy a bike from there.
I work in Bellevue too, down near Factoria mall. :)
And dudes who work there have typical salesman attitude - push, push, push...
For example, I asked a guy there if a fuel injector cleaning additive would work on carbs and he said " Yeah, sort of". I said "I'll pass, thanks", turned away astarted walking away when I heard him say to another guy "Not really".
Would much rather find a place owned by an honest knowledgable person, but those are far in between. I still may use this Eastside place to have them order things for me.
My bike is not a very heatly state at the moment - leaks oil, doesn't rev well, doesn't start well. Really need to go over it and tend just about everything.
Hey, I work near Factoria mall too. Well actually near movie theater.
Cheers,
Jenya
If we did a ride and bbq that would be sweet! I have the perferct place with lots of bike parking at my house. The only set back is ......I need to get a new grill. My old one rusted out. I'm working on getting one of those super high-end stainless bbq grills. Not the cheapo ones from Home Depot or Walmart. I'm talking true stainless so it will not rust out like all the other grills I've had. We can plan the ride and bbq for sometime in the future. In the mean time a ride would be sweet. Some back roads.....Snoqualime Falls....who knows.....
Hopefully I'll have some details soon... Anyone riding up from OR? I know one person is... :icon_razz:
I have an end time of about 6 (I think), 'cause of my show in Bremerton that night...
OK... So, I was informed that I have to figure out where we're riding... Any suggestions?
I was thinking to start out a little south, since some people are coming from way south...
Perhaps somewhere arount Mt. Rainier. I don't know the area that well, but I hear there's a lot of good riding down there.
I gotta wonder if the roads are all open now...
Snoqualmie Falls also sounds fun.
Not sure what road around Snoqualmie... Last time I was out that way, the road was HUGE and straight... :icon_confused:
I was kinda thinking HW 20... I hate when people make ME think of the ride...
Hw 202 going through Snoqualmie Falls is actually not a bad ride, but short. It ends at North Bend. Unless we take turn to Carnation. But Carnation ride is rather dull. Hw 20 seems like a neat ride, but somebody expressed a concern for a long ride for people coming from the South.
What about Hw 101 loop? Now, I don't know Seattle area that well. Haven't lived here long enough. But just from looking at the map it looks interesting and closer for people coming from OR.

Modified first post with a possible trip from south to north... (Since a few people might be coming from WAY south).
i'm truckin it up, cause i have some other things i'm doing while i'm up there, and don't feel like DD'n on the bike when i have a perfectly crappy truck to crash. btw, if you have a gstwin.com sticker on your bike you get into RV's show for free., if any of the other portland carnies wants a ride up i have room for 3-4 more bikes.
Huh, never really ridden that far from home before. I've only had limited freeway experience.
We can get to either location without taking the freeway...
They're just ideas... No one has said they like them though.
Have there been any decisions? When and where are we meeting?
No one has really said what they want/don't want... (Other than you saying that you're not into freeway)...
Last weekend I rode around 2up on the roads I already know (basically the same route we did last time)... It's an hour+ in each direction.
So, the question is... How long does everyone want to ride? I have no idea what time Davipu is supposed to get to town (just txt'd him), but I know I gotta be home around 6:00 to get ready for the show later than day.
If we end up starting later in the day, we can just meet up somewhere around in Issaquah and ride from there... Or if we start out early in the day, we can meet somewhere else (depending on where everyone wants to ride)... I know we can get down to Auburn without taking freeways... Or we can all ride together in the far left lane in a group of riders (safety in numbers) all the way down...
Now here's the bad news: "20% chance of precipitation (http://www.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/findweather/getForecast?query=98109)" on Saturday.

I never said that. I just said I didn't have much experience on it. :)
Even then, since I made that post, I ended up riding to Stanwood (way the hell up north by Camano Island) to visit a friend.
I'll be fine with whatever you choose.
You guys catch the latest on the weather? IT'S GOING TO RAIN!
I guess that leaves me out. I will not ride in the rain at all. I dumped my bike twice riding in the rain and will not ride in it again. So...I guess I'll catch you guys on the next ride. :thumb:
I dont care where we go I just want to ride! I hope it doesnt rain but I am predicting it will only be cloudy which is comfortable riding weather.
What time should we start? I vote we go before noon, and definitely not as late as last time.
I was talking to Davipu about it... He said he's prolly coming up on Friday, so we could probably get rolling before noon...
I don't know who all is coming from where, but we could meet up and ride out to meet the others... I think Davipu is staying in Bellevue... Syphon is on the Eastside too...
Weather report has been upgrade to 30% chance of rain. :icon_confused:
It might just be easier to ride a similar run to last time (Issaquah -> Carnation -> Bothel), rather than heading down south... I know that route and I've never been on the southern roads.
Funny shaZam!...it's not going to rain now. They changed the weather prediction again :thumb:
Let me know were you guys are going to meet or if you will be in the south end at anytime.
wunderground still says 50% chance of rain in the afternoon... I heard on the news rain only in the morning...
Predicting the weather in Seattle is like trying to guess the lotto numbers.
I'm thinking meet up with Seattle people in Seatte somewhere, then ride to the east side and meet up with other people...
Probably ride to Issaquah and go from there.
Cool....Cool...let me know what location you guys will be meeting up in the south end and I'll try and catch up with you. :thumb:
I'm starting to think we won't have time to head south... My stupid band-mates want to meet up at 4:00... I told them NO F%$KING WAY! But, I'll prolly have to be home around 5:00 now... DAMNIT!
Rain, curfew... shaZam!!
OK... Here's what I'm thinking:
Meet up at I-90 Motorsports (http://www.i-90motorsports.com/map_hours.asp) in Issaquah: MAP (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=from+Seattle,+WA+to+200+NE+Gilman+Boulevard+Issaquah+WA+98027&ll=47.57004,-122.181015&spn=0.197354,0.385895&om=1)

There is a gas station near by in case anyone forgets to fill up...
Leave I-90 Motorsports at 11:30ish...
I have numbers for Davipu, Bluebellylint, and Syphon... (If you guys don't have mine, PM me (or one of the other people on that list) for my number)... (You can call if you don't wanna go that morning and I won't wait for ya').
If anyone else is coming along for a (50% chance of rain) Issaquah -> Carnation -> Snohomish ride, send a PM for my number.
I'll update the main post too....
I have to bail on tomorrow. :(
A) It's probably going to rain. I'd be ok with it normally (despite not having any rain gear), but...
B) My best friend got in an accident involving a motorcycle last night (he was in a car, hit by a biker). I'm gonna drive up and hang out with him tomorrow instead.
I'm sorry guys. I'm in on any other meets you have! :)
Quote from: syphon on May 19, 2006, 02:30:12 PMI have to bail on tomorrow. :( I'm sorry guys. I'm in on any other meets you have! :)
It's alright, I'll come find you on the next sunny weekend that I don't have some other pressing issue... :thumb:
sounds good RVertigo. Should I meet you at your house to make sure you get out on time? :bs:
OK... Davipu's bike is screwed up and can't make it up this weekend...
So... Postponing the ride.
Well.....this blows but I understand.
Maybe next time we can get our $hit together and plan a ride with everyone showing up.
I'm cool with it.....keep me updated on the next ride.
Hmm.. Well, some how I have not been around here for ever. So when I came across this sunday, I was bummed. Then I saw it was cancelled. Sweet! Well, not for anyone else.. Well, you get the idea. Well, we should plan for a ride next month. Well, I'm going to have to stop saying well. Anyway.. My Point: I would like to go on this too. It seems that there are more people in the area then I would have guessed.
:thumb:
We WILL go ride...
Anyone that wants to plan one (including myself) should post, then PM everone in this thread. :icon_mrgreen:
yeah, so i still havn't worked on my bike. but it was sunny all day saturday, and i went and played frisbie in the park with some dirty hippies, then went swimming. suckers.
I went riding a little that weekend...
When you coming up next? :icon_razz:
