Okay, so, I've notice my bar end CONSTANTLY loosens up on practically every ride from here to the end of the block.
I've tried blue locktite... I've tried torquing the hell out of the screw... and none of that helped me at all.
"Guidance"?
Take the bar end out and tighten the nut on the end so that it squishes the rubber a bit more. Then jam it in there and torque the screw even more.

tried it already. its a no go. btw, its 10mm bolt (that doesn't thread) backed against the bar end, and a 8mm bolt on the end of the screw.
really shitty set up.
So... Can you turn the screw forever or does it get tight and then loosen up?
oh, it tightens up, but it loosens up as I go down the road.
Vibration Induced???
Which barend? Throttle side? - move the throttle tube up the handlebar, away from the barend. Or, maybe a one of those star lockwashers, with the teeth either on the outside or inside.

both sides.... maybe after market something or others?
Blue locktite didn't do it? :?
I dunno... Something is missing in there.
Try this... Get some lockwashers on the inside... So, inside nut, split lock washer, flat washer, jaged lock washer, rubber, screw... Tighten with the screw, then turn the bar end the same way, and tighten more with the screw.
Try using clear fingernail polish on the threads instead of blue locktite.......
If that doesn't work, Maybe check out some red locktite (eeeeek!). I can't imagine it would loosen up after all that. :dunno_white:
Wow, I've never heard of blue loctite failing just from vibration. I would clean up the threads, add some lockwashers like mentioned above, and try using the blue stuff again.

I read this and the whole time I was thinking:
RED LOCTITE!!!
really? Red you think?
no thats probably not the best way to do it... try what they said first then go to red
