Anyone know if a 90 GSXR 750 rear wheel works for the swap like the other ones. 89 or something isnt that what most people say works? Crush drive looks the same. Will the instructions for installing the 89? work with a 90? Do you really need a GSXR rear brake disk if the bolt patterns the same (seems to be) why wont the GS500 disk work?
Thanks.
it hasnt been tested. could be the hub width is too wide? could be lots of things as to why it would or wouldnt work. you can make anything work if you have a lathe and some metalworking tools...
try finding a bandit 400 rear wheel if you must go with a wider rim and tire the bandit wheel is a direct bolt in uses same brake rotor same bearings and you can put 160 tire on it no problems you have to move the rear brake arm over or bend it to clear the tire. ive got this mod done on my gs works great. :thumb:
What years for the bandit 400 or are they all the same?
Nm on that last question. But the 88-89 gsxr rear wheels are 4.5 x 17 and this is what is printed on my wheel, the only reason I say 90 gsxr wheel is cause of the tag that the guy who I bought it from has on it. So, does that mean that all the measurments across the wheels inner bits should be the same then, like the hub width which you guys mentioned. If so all I should have to do is worry about the brake disk fitting? Could be labled wrong, the tag, cause I was pretty sure I bought the right wheel but then I do do stupid stuff like this all the time.
