Raising the rear ride height of some bikes can improve handling charasterics, but changing the linkage length will alter the damping ratio. Something like this would be used to dial in desired charasterics at the track, and probably is not too helpful at street pace.
A 130/90 rear tire will raise the rear about 1" (25mm) and a 140/80 will raise it about 3/4 inch. With a 110/70 OE size front tire the steering will be noticeably quicker with the larger rear tire. I've had both rear sizes on GS's.
In my opinion, a 110/70 supersport front tire with a 140/80 sport touring rear will quicken it even more and be a safer approach than longer links. I've got a 110/70 BT010 front and a 140/80 AV36 rear tire on the old GS and it's a bit twitchy at low speeds but very nice at a faster pace.
