Title: Gas piping: wrong connections?
Post by: arkanoid on April 24, 2006, 05:08:22 AM
On saturday, I was riding to a close town when mt bike started bumping a bit so I supposed I had to turn on Reserve. Well, normally the engine takes some seconds in order to return running clear, but after some seconds of unregular running one carb went out of fuel and I countinued for a tenth of seconds with only one cylinder when also this one passed away. I supposed that it's not a good thing....normally turning on reserve has not to make the bike stop when you are about 80 km/h, you should have the time to make the carbs filled up again. I was a little chanced because only some meters far there was the last gas pump...unlike I stopped there I had to run for many miles to find one! I had the doubt that the gas was the problem or even an electrical one or spark plugs failur could be, so I splashed only some lt of fuel to try, and the result was the bike perfectly running, so I filled up at maximum for a total of about 20 litres. I supposed there's someting wrong with the gas valve....umh.....because effectly I was out of fuel. What's the correct connection of the gas pipes in the valve? I think the normal and reserve one are switched.
Tnx!

Tnx, but I have a k6 one and the valve is a little different, connection are all at 90 degrees between each other. So, I looked for a marker and I found an "R" signed on the tank connector and another one on the valve one.
You can confirm that these stands for Reserve? Does anyone have a k6 with the T valve? Unfortunately this bike was not well-born and had some problems which had been solved in a free service, and I just picked up the bike from the 1000 km service...and I see that the lover cap under the engine has a drop of oil, I think I should rescrew it but I want to call the dealer before....and I had this gas problem.....
I want to be quite sure about it, so I can be VERY aggressive with the dealer.....
