So when I went to clean out my carbs I discovered that the drain bolt on my right hand side float bowl was stripped. Not only was the bolt stripped but it was rusted to the point of no return.
-Definitely can't remove with screw driver/impact driver
-pliers won't work, not enough to grab
-not enough to slot with dremel
So that leaves me with two options as far as I can tell.
-drill out and retap (I already have a tap and drill bit. Not really that important as far as i can tell considering its just a drain bolt.)
-replace the bowl.
I would prefer to replace the bowl, assuming its not $$$$. When I went on bikebandit etc for parts they don't have the bowl listed. Its not numbered etc. Does anyone know of a good/cheap place to pickup a float bowl? If not, I could always try a stealership... but thats last resort.... after I attempt a drill/tap/.15 cent bolt solution.
I will sell you one ... lets say $5 and ship. BTW no gasket in mine, atleast not one that can be used ... atleast not one I will guarantee will work ...
Cool.
Srinath.
oh nice... that was fast. Consider it off your hands as long as the drain bolt comes out. :icon_razz:
Lemme know how much to ship. Probably an easy fit in a USPS envelope. Also there is really no rush. I have finals in two weeks and won't be home to work on the bike anytime soon.
paypal?
(Just for general knowledge, do they sell these online/dealer individually)

I don't think so. I believe that, like the piston guide, it's not available individually. :icon_rolleyes:
