Yeah, so I adjusted my floats 8 times on Saturday. I now have my PhD in carb floats. I've got it down to about 5 minutes per carb, adjusting while the carbs are still on the bike. Thank goodness for socket head capscrews!!!!!
How the heck did you adjust float height with the carbs still on the bike? Drain the fuel out, unscrew the float bowls, then adjust the tabs? Hell, seems easier to pull the carbs...
I've done it once that way...with the original philips screws :o Right angle screwdriver and small screwdrivers rule.

Yep... Drain fuel, unscrew float bowl, remove float, adjust tab, reinstall float and float bowl and prime with fuel.... definitely way faster than removing the carbs; the only hard part is working the allen key around the fuel hoses on the left side. The best part is that you can run the bike, pull the plugs to get an idea of the A/F mixture and then readjust as necessary without tearing the whole bike apart.... although I really didn't plan on doing it 8 times.
Hmm. Since I got the lunchbox filter (and removed the airbox), pulling the carbs isn't a big deal for me anymore. I guess with the airbox in I can totally understand not wanting to have to pull themout. Impressive, nonetheless.
