Post by: coll0412 on May 01, 2006, 01:55:41 PM
Hey just thought I would throw up some pics from the MMRU(Minnesota Motorcycle Riders at the University) Group Ride last week.

Check out me in the middle right with some hardcore tire envy

Wow.. that picture sure shows how much skinnier a GS rear is, compared to a real supersport. Crazy. Looks like you had fun though!  :thumb:

What is the deal with all these bikes with just one of their headlights on?  Am I just noticing a bunch of broken bikes all of the sudden, or is this some kind of statement?

eye protection anyone??

get like 1 mile down the road before you're due for a bug in the eye.

That's how sportbikes are nowdays. Factory defaults.

As for the riders... I tend not to associate myself with squids. The club (University Sportbike Club - USBC) I'm an officer in at the university doesn't tolerate that kind of stuff on our rides. Too dangerous and don't want to deal with the liability of morons.

Glad to see it, sad I missed it. Well done.

I can't believe all the helmets - they pass a law since I left?

I saw some of those pics on MNSBR... good photography and good turnout.  What are the rides with MMRU like?  I went on one with MNSBR and they were going a little fast for me...  I don't need to be doing triple digits in the straights

Yeah....we basically "highly recommend" wearing full gear in this group. We have a strict policy on speed and wheelies and such( expect for this one expeception with the stunters group). Goup memebers are looked down on doing wheelies on the free way, we take passengers so crazy behavior is frowned apon.

The group is really a bunch of people who love motorcyles because they are fun and all the associated stuff, not for image. So the rides are about enjoying motorcycles so we go like 10 over posted speed limits and don't do much of the crazy stuff.

Manofthefield your more then welcome to come, send me a PM if you want to

Also the single headlight can be side lights. Some bikes use sidelights over here during the day (although not as bright as headlights) they work just as well to get you noticed. At night they can then switch onto headlights (dipped and full)
