I found the perfect spot for my bike... almost.
Nice little gravel patch outside my apartment building: I won't get any tickets, I can see the bike from my window, and nobody will mess with it. But it rained the other day, the ground got soft, the kickstand sank into the mud like quicksand, and I woke up in the morning to find my bike taking a nap on its side.
Only damage was to my clutch lever... snapped at the base. Bike is unrideable. Any idea where to get a replacement part? Would it be expensive? I guess I'd switch out the brake lever too while I'm at it.
Bike is a GS500E 1995.
Thanks
Why would you change out the brake lever, too? What's wrong with it?
Buy two clutch levers; one to put under your seat, just in case...or, for next time.
Where? Find a local m/c accessory store in the phone book. Hopefully, someone here will respond with the best online place to get them.
brake lever is bent a little too... still functional, but it looks a little silly.
Order a new and keep that one as your spare. :thumb:

Here is another hint get a small piece of flat metal, otherwise know as a kick plate, and put that underneath your kickstand. This is also a good idea when you have to park on blacktop during those hot summer months. :thumb: :thumb:
